Not only did Robert Kamen write movies like The Karate Kid, The Fifth Element, and Taken, he also pioneered organic and biodynamic farming in Northern California and established “mountain Cabernet” — Cabernet Sauvignon grown on mountain slopes as opposed to the valley floor — as the new benchmark for the production of fine wine in Napa and Sonoma.

In the early years of his namesake winery, Kamen frequently traveled the country speaking about the virtues of biodynamic farming and teaching wine lovers about the unique character of high-elevation Cabernet Sauvignon.

Today, the wines are so well known and received that he no longer needs “to take the show on the road.”

But each year, he returns for dinner with his friend Tony Vallone to share his stories from the film business and the wine trade.

It’s always a night to remember at Tony’s…
