Tony’s hosts the Houston Food Blogger Collective

Earlier this week, Tony’s hosted a dinner for nine members of the Houston Food Blogger Collective, a group that connects the scores and scores of Houston’s food bloggers and social media users.

That’s Renia Butler (right), author of Gristle and Gossip and president of the collective, and Jamie Alvear (left), author of the Drunken Diva and contributor to the Houston Press.

Ever since the advent of social media and the rise of food-and-wine-focused blogging and microblogging, Tony has been at the forefront of the movement. Not only was he one of the first restaurateurs in Houston to implement a social media campaign, he was also one of the earliest restaurateur bloggers (if you’re reading this, then you know that his blog is highly active!).

As a proud member of the ever-evolving and expanding food scene in Houston, Tony is a huge fan of the collective and its members. By organizing and creating a set of standards and best practices, the group has done invaluable work in creating a sense of community among social media users and raising the bar in terms of quality writing and reporting.
