The cuisine at Tony’s changes with every season and that means summer, too.
During Houston’s warmest months, we all tend to reach for lighter foods. And that’s why Tony’s tasting menu shifts its focus during summer to feature the bounty of seasonal ingredients that we enjoy this time of year, like the heirloom figs and Treviso Radicchio in the “Milano Salad,” just one of the options on our Haute July tasting menu.
It’s also a time of year that we crave lighter-bodied wines. Tony’s partner and general manager Scott Sulma has selected two fantastic Italian wines to pair with the menu: A gorgeous Alpine white wine from South Tyrol (German-speaking Italy) and a fresh, bright Sangiovese from the Tuscan coast, where locals often pair reds with dishes like the seared Mediterranean Branzino served with classic Tuscan white beans.
It’s hot outside but Tony’s “Haute July” tasting menu is cool.
