“Rarely have I been this excited about the caliber of the wines and the pairings,” says Tony Vallone speaking on the February 24 wine dinner to be held at Tony’s with acclaimed winemaker Luc Morlet.
“A once-in-a-lifetime wine pairing dinner. A dinner not to be missed!” he says.
For someone who’s seen his share of great wine dinners and pairings, Tony’s not easily impressed with fine wine tasting and wine pairing. But when Luc Morlet joins us next week, we will be tasting five wines of his that have received 90+ point scores from the top wine writers working in the U.S. today, Robert Parker, Jr. and Antonio Galloni. Tony is creating a menu especially for the occasion.
Luc was born in Champagne (and we’ll be tasting his family’s Champagne as well). But it’s his passion for winemaking in California that has made him a superstar of his generation.
The wines follow:
Ma Douce 2012 Sonoma Coast Chardonnay
95 Points Wine Advocate
Côteaux Nobles 2012 Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir
93 points Wine Advocate
Bouquet Garni 2012 Bennett Valley Syrah
96 Points Wine Advocate
Mon Chevalier 2011 Knights Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
91-93 Points Galloni
Passionnément 2011 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
